Starved Rock is a Great Place to Escape
Recently we took a trip to Starved Rock Illinois. There is a great resort there that you can rent a room or a cabin for the family. It is a great place to go hiking through the canyons and along the river. For those that enjoy the outdoors, in Illinois it can be beat. Recently an indoor waterpark was built at one of the local hotels, but we did not have time for that because the weather was beautiful and we wanted to be outside enjoying the weather. Make sure to bring water and good shoes. We were surprised at the hiking opportunities. There are trails that are great for small childen and others that are only suited for those in great shape. Just about anything in between. It was a short drive out of Chicago, and we are now planning to make this an annual trip.
